In Astana, additional measures are being taken to cool the building of Nurly Zhol station due to hot weather. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, the operation of the temperature regime and air conditioning system was checked at the station, and waiting rooms and technical premises were inspected. Based on the inspection results, a decision was made to install 20 additional industrial fans with a humidification function.
Duty officers at the station were tasked with round-the-clock monitoring of the temperature regime and promptly responding to passenger requests. Round-the-clock duty of medical workers was also organized.
The company reported that due to the unusually hot weather in the capital, the load on the air conditioning system has increased significantly. The additional load is also associated with the temporary transfer of 16 passenger trains to Nurly Zhol station due to the reconstruction of Astana-1 station.
"As a result, passenger traffic increased by 23%, which also increased the load on the cooling system," KTZ said.
