More than 100 people were evacuated following a fire in a residential complex in Astana. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The incident occurred in a nine-story residential complex located in the Sarayshyk district. According to the Department of Emergency Situations, furniture caught fire in one of the apartments. Before firefighters arrived, 110 people self-evacuated from the building.
"A unit of the gas and smoke protection service used rescue hoods to save 14 people, including 5 children," the press service of the department reported.
The fire did not spread beyond 10 square meters. No one was injured in the incident.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that rescuers in the Almaty region prevented an explosion at a kebab shop.
