Republican horse races were held at the Kazanat hippodrome near Astana. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The event was timed to coincide with the Day of State Symbols and the Kurban Ait holiday. More than 8,500 spectators attended the races.
About 50 selected horses and experienced riders from across the country participated. The horses competed in three distances: the 9-km Kunan baige, the 16-km Top baige, and the 25-km Alaman baige.
Winners and prize-winners received substantial cash prizes, two Changan cars, and a one-bedroom apartment.
