The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population is strengthening control over compliance with labor safety requirements at construction sites in Astana. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The decision was made following a meeting attended by government agencies and representatives of the construction industry. Two accidents involving the collapse of tower cranes occurred in the capital. As a result, two people died and two more were seriously injured.
A special investigation is underway for each incident. Deputy Minister Yerbol Tuyakbayev warned industry representatives against a formal approach to labor safety requirements and said they had been given time to eliminate identified violations.
«"We carried out preventive work with construction companies, warned them, and gave time to eliminate identified violations. Nevertheless, those who ignore safety requirements will not be able to evade responsibility," said Yerbol Tuyakbayev.»

Following the meeting, the State Labor Inspection Committee was tasked with considering the issue of conducting unscheduled inspections at construction sites in accordance with the procedure established by law. If non-compliance is detected, materials will be sent to the relevant state bodies for action under the law.
