Kazakh blogger Vlad Pritulyak decided to re-check how long it takes to travel on the LRT from Astana airport to the city center. This time, the result was significantly better than during the previous experiment. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to the blogger, he had previously compared the LRT with a car on a similar route. At that time, the train lost to the car and reached the destination in 38 minutes. Now, according to the navigator, the car journey in the evening without traffic jams was supposed to take about 26 minutes.

During the trip, Vlad spoke with an LRT employee who said that the trains had increased their speed. Previously, the trains moved at about 40 km/h, but now they accelerate to 60–65 km/h.

As a result, the LRT trip took 25 minutes and 45 seconds, which is even slightly less than the navigator predicted for the car.

"I think this is a great result. It's a huge difference. Plus, I spent only 200 tenge and enjoyed beautiful views — I think there are only advantages to the LRT," the blogger shared.

Recall that earlier the blogger conducted a similar experiment, comparing a trip from the Baiterek station to the airport by car and LRT. Then the light rail covered the route in 38 minutes, while the car took 30 minutes.
