In Astana, Emergencies Ministry rescuers prevented a tragedy on the Karautkel bridge by lowering a man from a height of about 30 meters. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The incident occurred in the Saryarka district. Rescuers received a message about the need to assist police: a man had climbed onto the arch of the bridge and was at a height of about 30 meters.
Emergencies Ministry forces and equipment promptly arrived at the scene. Using climbing gear, rescuers successfully lowered the man from the height to the ground.
After the rescue operation was completed, the man was handed over to police officers.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that searches continue in the mountains of Almaty for a foreign citizen born in 1953, who on September 28 decided to descend from Shymbulak on his own and did not return to the hotel. About 50 people, a helicopter and seven drones are involved in the search and rescue operation, the Emergencies Ministry reported.
