During the «САЯХАТ 2026» Kazakhstan Travel Forum held in Astana, Deputy Chairman of the Moscow City Tourism Committee Bolat Nurmukhanov presented Moscow's tourism opportunities. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan and Russia share a common history
Nurmukhanov noted that Kazakhstan and Russia are united by a common history and ties between their peoples.
Number of guests who visited Moscow
According to him, based on the results of 2025, the Russian capital welcomed 26.5 million guests.
«We continue our work to restore the flow of tourists from various countries, including Kazakhstan. Based on the results of last year, about 200 thousand people came to Moscow from Kazakhstan. However, we do not want to stop at the achieved result. After all, Moscow is one of the world's leading megacities. Life is in full swing here, and hundreds of various events take place every day,» said Nurmukhanov.
Moscow's experience is of interest to Astana
Moscow is one of the long-standing in-demand destinations among tourists traveling from Kazakhstan. This was stated by Artem Kvashuk, Chairman of the Board of the «Astana Tourism» company.
«The share of tourists from Russia accounts for about 40 percent of all foreign tourists arriving in Astana. For us, Moscow's experience in developing urban tourism and promoting it is very interesting. We also offer guests business, medical, cultural, event and gastronomic tourism. Previously, Astana was mainly associated with business trips. Today, tourists come to Astana both to relax and to take part in various events,» said Kvashuk.
