The ceiling of a canteen at the old railway station in Astana collapsed. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The incident occurred on June 28 at 05:35. A video of the incident spread on social media.
According to Kazakhstan Temir Zholy company, the ceiling of a public catering establishment located on the private territory of the station collapsed. Two people sought medical assistance, received first aid, and refused hospitalization.
"It should be noted that the canteen, whose ceiling partially collapsed, is located in the privately owned part of the old station building. This part of the building has been privately owned since 2002. Due to the transfer of the property into private ownership, it is no longer used in the technological processes of NC KTZ JSC, and the company has no right to dispose of this property," the statement said.
