In Astana, traffic is planned to open along E522 Street in Prigorodny by the end of October, and in November along Zhangeldin Street and one side of the new section of Tauelsizdik Avenue. Astana akim Zhenis Kassymbek announced the road work timelines on Instagram. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

This year, works cover almost 50 road facilities. By the end of the year, the authorities intend to build another 15 kilometers of roads and open traffic on them.

“This will improve transport accessibility and relieve the most congested sections of the city,” Kassymbek wrote.

By the end of October, traffic is promised along E522 Street in the Prigorodny residential area. A storm sewer has been built here and 600 meters of the lower asphalt layer have been laid. Construction of the water pipeline and road works continue.

By November 10, traffic is planned to open along Zhangeldin Street between Kumisbekov and Beisekov streets. It will provide access to school-gymnasium No. 65, the technical college and the “Bilim-Innovation” boarding lyceum. Currently, utility networks are being laid and road pavement is being built on the section.

By the end of November, the akimat intends to launch traffic on one side of Tauelsizdik Avenue on the section from Kabanbay Batyr to Hussein bin Talal Street. Here, the road is being built simultaneously with the laying of sewer, heating mains and communication networks.

According to city authorities, the new section will relieve Mangilik El and Turan avenues. The utility networks will meet the needs of the actively developing left-bank area.

By the end of the year, traffic is planned to open along 150 Years of Abai Street from Tlendiev Avenue to Beibarys Sultan Street. Road pavement is currently being built here.

Construction of a two-level interchange at the intersection of Tlendiev Avenue and Beisekov Street is also ongoing. The metal structure of the bridge has been fully assembled. On the side of the “Astykzhan” shopping house, the second layer of asphalt has been laid; on the Seifullin Street side, the base for the pavement is being prepared and work on utility networks continues. The main work on laying communications is 90% complete.

Kassymbek did not name the opening date of the interchange in the post. According to him, it will reduce the load on Akan Sery, Koshshygululy and Kumisbekov streets and improve transport accessibility of Koktal and Agrorodok. In addition, the road will simplify communication between the left bank and the exit from the right bank toward the Urker residential area via Chingiz Aitmatov Street.

Earlier, “Kursiv” wrote that in 2026 the capital planned to repair about 50 streets with a total length of about 60 kilometers. In parallel, the akimat reported on the construction of new roads, including E67 and E68 streets between Tole bi and Bekturov, as well as the extension of Nurmagambetov Street to improve access to the LRT station.

In September, the capital’s akim also spoke about designing a two-level road along Kabanbay Batyr Avenue. Another plan is to extend Hussein bin Talal Street and build a bridge across the river to create an additional transport link between the left bank and the area of the “Nurly Zhol” station.
