A fraudulent scheme related to custom furniture making has been exposed in Astana. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The victim saw an advertisement on social media about furniture production and signed a contract. After measurements were taken, he transferred 4.5 million tenge. After that, the two fraudsters stopped contacting him.
According to the prosecutor's office, 19 citizens suffered from their actions, with total damage exceeding 24.6 million tenge.
By court verdict, each of them was sentenced to 6 years in prison, with deprivation of the right to hold leadership positions in commercial and non-commercial organizations for 10 years.
