In Astana, the organizers of a fake Hajj were sentenced. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Two residents of the city widely advertised on Instagram the organization of pilgrimages to Mecca and Medina. 37 citizens trusted their promises and transferred a total of 60 million tenge.
The criminals spent the money on themselves. By court verdict, both were sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment. A civil claim for compensation of material damage to the victims is also subject to satisfaction. The verdict has not entered into legal force.
