Astana conducted a preventive raid in the courtyards of multi-story buildings to identify illegal barriers hindering the passage of fire trucks, ambulances, and police. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The inspection was jointly organized by the Astana Emergency Situations Department, the prosecutor's office, the police, and the city akimat. Specialists examined the courtyards and identified concrete blocks, chains, barriers, and other obstacles that could impede the passage of special equipment.
According to state bodies, measures are being taken in accordance with the law regarding the identified violations. The acting head of the Astana Emergency Situations Department, Omirzhan Tukushev, noted that such raids are conducted regularly.
"The main goal of the raids is to prevent violations of fire safety requirements, eliminate identified violations, and explain to residents the importance of complying with fire safety rules," said Omirzhan Tukushev.
According to specialists, residents most often install barriers to preserve parking spaces or restrict the entry of unauthorized vehicles. However, in an emergency, such obstacles can delay the arrival of emergency services.
The emergency services called on residents not to install illegal barriers in courtyards and to ensure free passage for special equipment.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that in Astana, as part of the "Erkin zhol zhuru" campaign, employees of the Emergency Situations Department and police checked the courtyards of residential complexes, access roads to social facilities, and places of mass gathering. Particular attention was paid to passages for fire equipment and access to fire water supply sources. During the raids, residents were also reminded of fire safety rules, the operation of electrical equipment, and actions in case of fire.
