Two Astana residents were arrested for five days for setting off fireworks in residential courtyards at night. The young men wanted to congratulate friends on their birthdays but disturbed the peace of citizens. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Incident in Saryarka District

The first incident occurred in the Saryarka district. An 18-year-old resident of the capital set off fireworks in the courtyard of a house on Ykylas Dukenuly Street. The loud sounds woke local residents, who contacted the police.

Incident in Yesil District

A similar case was registered in the Yesil district. There, a 24-year-old man organized a night fireworks display near a residential building in the area of Al-Farabi Avenue. He also explained his actions by a desire to congratulate a friend.

Administrative Responsibility

Both men were brought to administrative responsibility for petty hooliganism. The court sentenced each to five days of arrest.

Police Statement

"The use of pyrotechnic products in residential courtyards at night affects the interests of a large number of citizens. The police respond to such facts, identify violators, and take measures provided by law," said Marat Umirbayev, head of the public safety department of the Astana police department.

Reminder

The police reminded that celebrating a birthday does not exempt from the obligation to observe public order. For launching fireworks in courtyards late at night, violators face responsibility.
