First Deputy Prime Minister Nurlibek Nalibayev inspected the progress of construction of medical facilities in Astana. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
This year, a new reception and diagnostic complex at City Multidisciplinary Hospital No. 2 and a children's trauma center at City Multidisciplinary Children's Hospital No. 2 will be put into operation. First, the First Deputy Prime Minister inspected the construction of the perinatal center.
Perinatal center
The facility will open next year; the new modern 250-bed perinatal center will expand the capacity to provide specialized care to pregnant women, women in labor, and newborns. In addition, the workload on existing maternity organizations will decrease.
New hospitals and clinics
It is planned to complete construction and open a 300-bed multidisciplinary city hospital in the Saryarka district. After the new inpatient facility is commissioned, the capital's bed capacity will increase, and specialized medical care will become more accessible to the adult population.
The new reception and diagnostic complex at City Multidisciplinary Hospital No. 2 will house an adult admission department, an obstetric admission department, a diagnostic service, and a trauma center. The five-story facility will be able to receive 700-900 people per day.
Most importantly, within one complex, it will be possible to go through all stages of emergency care — from the initial examination to diagnosis, surgery, and continued treatment. This will increase the accessibility and effectiveness of specialized medical care.
The facility will include computed tomography, MRI, X-ray diagnostics, an angiography operating room, operating theaters, a stroke center, trauma departments, and intensive care units.
Children's trauma center
«This year, a new additional building for emergency trauma care will also open at City Multidisciplinary Children's Hospital No. 2. It will be equipped with a resuscitation room, an operating department, and computed tomography and X-ray diagnostics rooms», the report says.
The possibilities for examining and treating injured children with modern equipment will expand. This will optimize the referral of children to relevant departments and accelerate the provision of medical care.
Last year, a children's trauma center for residents of the Esil and Nura districts opened on the basis of the National Coordination Center for Emergency Medicine, and more than 10,000 children received medical care.
Primary health care
The primary health care network is also expanding: three new clinics receiving 500 people per shift will be built in Astana's growing districts. This will create conditions for residents to visit local doctors and specialized specialists at their place of residence, as well as undergo diagnostics and preventive examinations.
