A fire broke out on the roof of a four-story building under construction in Astana, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The fire occurred on E-871 Street in the Yesil district. Upon arrival of the first firefighting units, open burning of the roof and thick black smoke were observed.
To extinguish the fire, rescuers used an aerial ladder to deliver fire hoses. After the open flames were suppressed, emergency workers performed dousing and dismantling of structures to eliminate hidden hotspots.
The fire was contained at 17:55 and fully extinguished at 18:06, covering an area of 150 square meters. There were no casualties.
Earlier, Kursiv reported a fire at a car repair complex in the Turan district of Shymkent. The fire engulfed four of eight bays over an area of 119 square meters.
