Robot dogs are "working" in Astana as part of efforts to ensure public safety. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Astana city police department has deployed four robot dogs and is using them to monitor public order and prevent offences.

"Currently, the robot dogs are working in shopping malls and public places with large crowds, helping police officers monitor the situation in public spaces," the ministry said.

Using video cameras equipped with artificial intelligence technologies, the robot dogs monitor their surroundings and transmit video information in real time directly to the operational control centre. This allows police officers to quickly assess the situation in public places and take appropriate measures in a timely manner when necessary.

One of the technology's important capabilities is helping to identify people who are wanted.

"The artificial intelligence system integrated into the robot dogs performs facial recognition. If a match is identified, an alarm notification is automatically sent to the operational control centre," police said.

This technology enhances the police's rapid response capabilities and provides additional support in identifying wanted individuals.
