Four robot dogs have been deployed in Astana to ensure public safety and prevent offenses. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
This was announced by the official website of the capital's akimat. Currently, the robot dogs are operating in shopping centers and public places with large crowds, helping police officers monitor the situation in public spaces.
AI-based surveillance
According to the statement, the robot dogs use video cameras equipped with artificial intelligence technologies to monitor the surrounding situation and transmit video information in real time directly to the Operational Control Center.
"This allows police officers to promptly assess the situation in public places and take appropriate measures in a timely manner when necessary," the statement says.
Identifying wanted persons
One of the important capabilities of the technology is helping to identify wanted persons. The artificial intelligence system integrated into the robot dogs performs facial recognition.
If a match is identified, an alarm notification is automatically sent to the Operational Control Center. This technology enhances the police's rapid response capabilities and provides additional support in identifying wanted persons.
