A Kazakh-Chinese artificial intelligence school may open in Astana. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
At the plenary session of the August conference, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the need to train specialists of a new formation. The President stressed that this work cannot be considered separately from secondary education; there should be a unified system from bottom to top.
Tokayev also raised the question of whether it is right for 18-year-olds to sit at school desks. He noted that this is usually the case in Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools and private educational institutions, but given that modern children mature faster physiologically, how reasonable is this? The President expressed hope that the ministry would consider this issue and, if necessary, propose appropriate solutions.
In September, the University of Artificial Intelligence will open in Astana to train specialists of a new formation. But Tokayev believes this is not enough. He said the government should work out the issue of opening a Kazakh-Chinese artificial intelligence school in Astana, taking into account China's achievements and experience in mastering new technologies.
