A new school for 1,200 students will be built in Astana using returned assets, the government reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
For this purpose, 7 billion tenge were allocated from the Special State Fund. The new educational facility will be built in the "Nura" district of the capital. Currently, construction and installation works are underway at the site.
The project is planned to be completed by the end of next year. Currently, there are 4 state schools operating in the construction area, but there is a shortage of student places. The new facility will reduce the burden on schools No. 84, No. 85, No. 89, and No. 97 in the capital.
In total, the government approved financing for more than 500 social projects worth over 610 billion tenge. Funds are being allocated for the construction and modernization of educational, healthcare, sports, and communal infrastructure facilities across the country.
In the education sector, 17 projects with a total value of 64.4 billion tenge were approved for implementation.
