A family race "OTBASY DUATLON 2026" was held in Astana for Family Day. Participants of the competition, which has been organized since 2016, covered a 4.2-kilometer distance by running and cycling. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Children competed in three age categories, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
"In the family competition with a total length of 4.2 kilometers, fathers first started with running 2 distances, then mothers on bicycles took over the relay. The children finished the race with a 200-meter run to the finish line," the city akimat says.
Winners and prizes
Winners are determined in 3 categories, and they were given household appliances as prizes.
"In the city of Astana, the family duathlon is organized once a year. We came to the event held for Family Day from Akmola region, the city of Akkol, but the main thing is to give motivation to our children. Because children repeat not our words, but our actions," says Anna Lebedeva, a mother of 6 children and a participant in the race.
Lottery
Among the race participants, 10 bicycles were raffled in a lottery by registration numbers.
