A woman in Astana who went to a client's apartment for an out-call therapeutic massage has reported rape, beating and knife threats. According to her, the suspect remained free for three months, and the investigation only moved forward after she turned to public activists. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The victim said she arrived at the man's apartment to perform a therapeutic massage. According to the woman, the client began demanding intimacy, and after she refused, he used force.
"I took my phone and was about to leave, but he grabbed me by the hair and hit me against the sofa. I fought, screamed, begged him to let me go, but he did not hear and raped me," she said.
The woman claims she tried to get out of the apartment but could not open the door. According to her, the man prevented her from escaping, continued beating her, threatened to kill her and raped her again.
The police were called by neighbors. After the attack, she was left with bruises, cuts on her back and other injuries.
The woman also stated that after police officers arrived, the man's relatives were allowed into the apartment, while her sister and brother were not let in. According to her, she could not get to a hospital immediately, and her statement was only taken late at night.
"The rape happened 3 months ago, and he has been walking free all this time. I was afraid to publicize my misfortune, but I could no longer endure this red tape and turned to public activists," said Nargiz.
As the TV channel reports, the suspect has been detained. According to the applicant, a criminal case is being investigated under the article "Rape." The woman is seeking to hold the man accountable.
