A 26-year-old man was arrested for five days in Astana after damaging an elevator door in a residential building on Baurzhan Momyshuly Avenue. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the police, the man kicked the elevator door at night while intoxicated. Law enforcement officers identified and detained the offender.
"For the facts of appearing in a public place in a state of intoxication, disturbing the peace and petty hooliganism, the measures provided for by law were taken against him," the police said.
The court sentenced the man to five days of administrative arrest. In addition, he will be required to compensate for the material damage caused.
Police reminded that elevators and other public facilities are common property, and intentional damage to them entails liability.
