A 29-year-old man in Astana was arrested for 10 days after firing two shots into the air from a signal pistol while in a car. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the police department, the offender was detained shortly after the incident. During the check, it was found that he was intoxicated at the time of the shooting.
"Police detained a 29-year-old man who, while in a car, fired two shots into the air from a signal pistol. It was established that at the time of the offense, the man was intoxicated," the police reported.
The incident was posted on the Instagram account of the Astana Police Department (@police__astana).
The man was brought to administrative responsibility for appearing in a public place while intoxicated. Materials on illegal storage and carrying of weapons were also sent to court.
In addition, by court order, he was found guilty of petty hooliganism and sentenced to 10 days of administrative arrest.
The police reminded that any actions that violate public order and pose a threat to the safety of citizens entail liability in accordance with the legislation of Kazakhstan.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that in the Akmola region, rescuers pulled a man out of reed thickets who, while intoxicated, got lost during a rest on Lake Batpakkol. He was handed over to an ambulance team.
