In Astana, 60% of graduates of free JOLTAP courses have found jobs. Over three years, 22,000 people completed training in sewing, welding, SMM and other fields. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
This was announced by the capital's akim, Zhenis Kassymbek, on Instagram.
"Three years ago we launched the JOLTAP project, which allows citizens to learn new professions for free, start their own business, find a job and receive consultations on state support measures," Kassymbek wrote.
According to the akim, another 17% of graduates work as freelancers, and about 2,000 people have opened small businesses.
Thirty programs were developed for the project. Nineteen of them train for working professions, including seamstress, baker, electric and gas welder, shoe repair specialist and furniture assembler. Another 11 areas are devoted to digital skills, including SMM, targeted advertising, graphic design and mobile photography.
"An important feature of the digital courses is the introduction of AI tools," Kassymbek noted.
Training is free. Enrollment is available at mobile points "Barshaga Mumkindik", district akimats and career centers of Astana's employment department.
By presidential instruction, the project is now being scaled up to all regions of the country.
The day before, the Ministry of Labor named the most in-demand professions in the country. According to the ministry, almost 42% of vacancies in Kazakhstan are in skilled working professions, the service sector and agriculture.
