Astana police have opened a criminal case after a football goal fell on a 9-year-old boy during training. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to the capital's police department, during the session the child hung on the football goal, after which the structure fell on him. The boy was injured and is receiving necessary medical assistance.

"Currently, investigative measures are being carried out, all circumstances of the incident are being established. The child was injured and is receiving necessary medical assistance," police reported.

Earlier, Kursiv wrote that the incident occurred on August 10 at about 19:30 on the football field on the territory of the House of Football in Astana, where the Kazakhstan Football Federation is located. A child born in 2017 was injured. According to journalist Aslan Kazhenov, after the injury the boy was taken to intensive care.

Later, KFF confirmed the fact of the incident and reported that the field was leased to a private football school for training. The federation began an internal inspection of the technical condition of the facility and equipment and stated its readiness to assist the competent authorities.
