A vandal who damaged elevators in a residential building has been arrested in Astana. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Police officers identified a 34-year-old man who, while intoxicated, deliberately damaged common property in one of the residential complexes on Tauelsizdik Avenue.
"The offender grossly violated public order, first breaking the door of the first elevator, then the second. He pulled the doors with his hands, kicked them, punched them, and as a result disabled the lifting equipment," the statement said.
The material damage amounted to 1.5 million tenge. A criminal case has been initiated on the fact of intentional destruction or damage to someone else's property. The suspect has been detained.
