Two foreign nationals, aged 21 and 37, were detained in Astana on suspicion of storing and distributing drugs. More than a kilogram of illegal substances was seized from them. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to police, while checking the Changan car in which the suspects were traveling, officers found a suitcase in the cabin.
"It contained three packages with a narcotic substance, as well as packaged capsules with a liquid substance that is also narcotic," the statement said.
In addition, similar substances were found in the bag of one of the detainees. The total weight of the seized items exceeded one kilogram. Police did not specify which drugs were found.
The operational activities were carried out by police officers together with the Committee for Combating Drug Crime under the coordination of the city prosecutor's office.
A criminal case was opened on the fact. Both suspects were placed in a temporary detention facility.
