Prosecutors in the capital recovered more than 2 billion tenge from alimony debtors. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
In total, the Astana prosecutor's office identified more than 5,000 instances of inaction by bailiffs regarding alimony collection. In addition, 5,500 debtors hid their income amounting to 26 billion tenge.
"At the initiative of the capital's prosecutors, a new method of combating alimony non-payers has been introduced – from now on, enforcement will also cover special equipment belonging to debtors that previously remained outside the attention of private bailiffs. Thanks to the new approach, prosecutors identified 126 units of construction, road and agricultural equipment with a total value of 2 billion tenge," the prosecutor's office said.
To date, the prosecutor's office has recovered more than 2 billion tenge in alimony in favor of 2,500 children.
Based on the results of inspections, a supervisory act was submitted to the Ministry of Justice to ensure the recovery of the identified billions in income and special equipment, as well as to hold the guilty persons who allowed inaction strictly accountable.
