The opening ceremony of the 'Games of the Future – 2026' tournament has begun in Astana. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The ceremony is attended by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The 'Games of the Future – 2026' tournament will take place from July 29 to August 9.
This is an international competition of a new format that combines esports, traditional sports, and modern technologies. The competition in Astana will feature 800 athletes from 34 countries.
As part of the 'Games of the Future – 2026' tournament, competitions will be held in 8 disciplines: phygital football, phygital basketball, phygital martial arts, phygital shooter, phygital dance, Dota 2, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, and PUBG: Battlegrounds.
