Astana is preparing to host the international tournament 'Games of the Future 2026'. The multi-sport tournament will take place from July 29 to August 9. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
More than 800 participants will arrive in the capital. The tournament program includes 8 phygital disciplines: phygital shooter (Counter-Strike 2); computer MOBA (Dota 2); mobile MOBA (Mobile Legends: Bang Bang); Battle Royale (PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS); phygital martial arts (Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves); phygital football (UFL); phygital basketball (3on3 FreeStyle); phygital dance (Just Dance).
The phygital format combines the digital world with its real-life counterpart. For example, a team first competes in a digital version of basketball, then continues the competition on the court. Competitions will be held at major sports venues in the capital – Barys Arena, Beeline Arena, Qazaqstan Athletics Sports Complex, and the Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov Martial Arts Palace.
