Astana police have launched a pre-trial investigation following a report of the beating of several minors. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Information about the incident appeared on the Instagram account Astanagramlive. According to the victims' parents, the events occurred on June 10 and 11 in the Old Town area. They claim that a group of teenagers beat five boys one after another.
As reported, there is a video recording capturing the moment of the beating of one of the children. The parents also state that other minors sustained bodily injuries. According to them, a brass knuckle may have been used during the attack.
All injuries received, as the parents claim, were documented, after which they filed statements with law enforcement agencies. The parents expressed concern that without public attention, the investigation may not receive proper oversight. They called on the competent authorities to conduct an objective and comprehensive investigation, identify all participants in the incident, and provide a legal assessment of their actions.
Additionally, according to information published on social media, some of the alleged participants in the incident had previously been on preventive registration. The police department reported that all participants in the incident, who were previously acquainted with each other, have been identified and brought to the police department of the Saryarka district.
"A pre-trial investigation has been registered regarding the infliction of bodily harm," the police reported.
