A resident of Astana reported that her child was poisoned by ice cream. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Control of Astana provided information on the incident. A complaint "My child was poisoned by ice cream" was posted on social media by Astana resident Aigul Kopzhasar. "My child ate ice cream and is now in intensive care. I believe my child was poisoned by ice cream. We are currently waiting for the results from the Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Control. All children in intensive care have intestinal infections, please be careful. Another child here also ate ice cream and was admitted with complications, but it was a different brand of ice cream," the woman said.
Mukamgali Aryspaev, Deputy Head of the Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Control of Astana, said that an application was received from the parent. "One application was received through the 'e-Otinish' information system regarding a poisoning after eating ice cream. The application has been accepted and is under the control of the department. The review is being conducted in accordance with legal requirements," said Mukamgali Aryspaev.
According to him, as of now, no other applications or emergency reports from medical institutions have been received regarding poisoning or intestinal infections related to the ice cream brand complained about by the woman.
