The Kazakhstan Football Federation (KFF) has commented on an incident that occurred on a football field in Astana. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Earlier, information spread on social media that a metal goal had fallen on the head of a child born in 2017. It was stated that the playing field belongs to the Kazakhstan Football Federation.

The Federation issued an official statement:

«"The Kazakhstan Football Federation expresses concern over the incident that occurred on August 10 at a football field in Astana. According to preliminary data, during a training session, a football goal fell on a child. The injured child was taken to a medical facility, where he is currently receiving the necessary medical care," the official statement said.»

The Federation says it supports the child and his family.

«"This football field was leased by the Kazakhstan Football Federation to a private football school for training camps. Currently, the KFF is establishing all the circumstances of the incident and conducting an internal inspection of the technical condition of the facility and equipment," federation specialists say.»

The injured child is in serious condition and is in the intensive care unit.
