Information about an attempted abduction of a boy by an adult man in Astana spread on social media. The capital's Police Department confirmed the incident to Kursiv and shared new details. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The 56-year-old man tried to take the minor to an abandoned yard in the Saraishyk district, but concerned passersby noticed the situation and called the police.
Law enforcement officers quickly identified the suspect and brought him to the district police department. Necessary procedural actions are currently underway.
The incident occurred on June 5 near secondary school No. 13. The boy appears to be about 9-11 years old. In published footage, the frightened boy confirms: "In short, one uncle kidnapped me."
At the same time, the Police Department stated that the boy's legal representative refused to file a police report. "Nevertheless, based on the results of the investigation, the man's actions will be given a legal assessment in accordance with the established procedure," the police noted.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that in Taraz, two men in a car attempted to abduct a girl.
