Astana has temporarily changed the route scheme of bus routes No. 18, 37, and 303 until July 13 due to the international gastronomic festival BaiQymyz-2026. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The festival takes place on July 11-12 at the Qazanat hippodrome. For the convenience of residents and guests of the city, buses on these routes will temporarily run to the hippodrome. Additionally, on July 11 and 12, their operating hours have been extended until 23:00.
Organizers recommend that festival guests use public transport if possible to avoid traffic jams near the venue.
BaiQymyz-2026 has gathered over 60 kumis producers from different regions of Kazakhstan. Guests from Kyrgyzstan and Yakutia are also participating. Visitors can taste different types of the national drink, learn about the traditions of its preparation, and see an international competition of kumis producers.
A cultural and sports program has been prepared for guests. It includes culinary shows and master classes on cooking national dishes, the Best Kazy competition, kokpar, baige, audaryspak, kyz kuu, traditional archery, as well as Koi Koteru, Zhilik Syndyru, shogen oiny, equestrian quidditch, a show of war horses, the ER QANATY horse parade, and performances by equestrian masters.
The festival also features the Dastur Sani: BaiQymyz-2026 competition aimed at promoting national culture and traditions. Results will be announced on July 12.
The main stage will feature performances by Sadraddin, Kazybek Kuraiysh, Gazizkhan Shekerbek, the ethno-folklore ensemble Turan, Zhubanysh Zheksen, Kairat Baekenov and the group Format, Kydyrali Bolmanov, Karakat Abildina, and other artists.
To enter the festival, you need to purchase a ticket for one or two days. Pensioners and children under 16 can visit BaiQymyz-2026 for free. Tickets can be purchased on the Freedom Ticketon website.
