On June 23, the air temperature in Astana reached a record level, Kazhydromet reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The maximum air temperature reached +36.8°C, exceeding the previous record by 0.4°C. The hottest weather on June 23 was recorded in 1941, when the mercury rose to 36.4°C.
On June 24, after a long heatwave, the weather became relatively cool, with daytime temperatures dropping to 26 degrees. Earlier, weather forecasters predicted that from June 25, thunderstorms, rain, hail, and storms would begin.
In the north and west of the country, temperatures will drop to 23-28 degrees, while in the southern and eastern regions it will be hot up to 40-42 degrees.
