Astana is conducting mass inspections of private bailiffs. Special attention is being paid to cases involving the collection of alimony. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the akimat, since the beginning of the year the capital's justice department has conducted 290 inspections. If specialists identify violations, private bailiffs may lose their licenses. Four bailiffs have already lost the right to work.
What the audits examine
Inspectors assess the legality of bailiffs' actions, compliance with deadlines, and the measures they take to recover debts. In alimony cases, they additionally check the income and property of debtors, as well as how actively bailiffs pursue repayment of the debt.
"Such proceedings directly affect the rights of children and require bailiffs to take the enforcement measures provided for by law in a timely and complete manner," said Aidana Bekberdi, head of the department for regulation and control over the activities of bailiffs at the Astana Justice Department.
166 planned and 124 unplanned inspections
Of the 290 inspections, 166 were planned and 124 were unplanned. These included inspections carried out following citizens' appeals. The department, together with the Regional Chamber of Private Bailiffs, also helps debtors find work so that they have an official income to pay alimony regularly.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that in Kazakhstan, houses and shares in apartments had begun to be seized for alimony debts.
