Today, the first demonstration flight of an air taxi took place in Astana. The organizer was the Kazakhstani private company Alatau Advance Air Group Ltd. together with Chinese partners eVTOL AutoFlight. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The demonstration used an eVTOL AutoFlight Prosperity aircraft, designed for one pilot and five passengers. The vehicle can reach speeds of up to 200 km/h and cover distances of up to 200 km.
However, to comply with safety requirements, the demonstration flight was conducted without passengers.
"The demonstration flight of an air taxi in Astana is not a separate demonstration, but part of systematic work to introduce urban air mobility in Kazakhstan... Demo flights allow us to consistently prepare the industry for the practical implementation of new technologies," said Sergey Khegay, General Director of Alatau Advance Air Group Ltd.
After the demonstration flight, the AutoFlight Prosperity air taxi will become one of the exhibits at the international tournament "Games of the Future 2026" in Astana. On July 29 and 30, the aircraft will be presented at an open exhibition in front of Barys Arena.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that a flight on an air taxi from Almaty to Konayev could cost 32 thousand tenge.
