Four former police officers have been detained in Astana following the death of a 30-year-old woman. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
On 22 September, the woman sustained a stab wound. The suspect was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility.
After that, the Internal Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted an internal investigation into the responsible officers.
"As a result of the investigation, four officers were dismissed on negative grounds. The heads of two district police departments and their deputies, as well as one deputy head of the Astana city police department, were relieved of their posts," the official statement said.
The head of the department and another of his deputies were subjected to strict disciplinary liability. In addition, a criminal case was opened on the fact of negligent performance of official duties.
Within the framework of this case, four former police officers were detained.
