The principal of School No. 99 in Astana has been dismissed from the position. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The reason was the mass gathering and crowding of students in the cloakroom, according to the city education department.

A video circulating on social media shows many students gathered at the same time in the school's cloakroom.

According to the city education department, due to improper organization of the second shift's class schedule, students from seven grades left classes at the same time. As a result, the number of people in the cloakroom sharply increased.

Based on a review of video surveillance footage, the education department stated that information about a student fainting and falling was not confirmed.

Currently, staff duty in the outerwear area of the school has been strengthened, and additional measures have been taken to ensure the safe movement of students.

In connection with the incident, the school principal was dismissed from the position.
