A court in Astana has sentenced a driver to 15 days in jail for committing over 80 traffic violations between March and June 2026. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to the specialized inter-district court, in two instances the driver accelerated to 151 and 126 km/h. He was found guilty of petty hooliganism. Despite numerous fines, he continued to grossly violate traffic rules, including repeatedly speeding.

During the hearing, the driver fully admitted his guilt, expressed remorse, and confirmed that he had been repeatedly held accountable for speeding. He also stated that he had paid all previously imposed fines and that he was behind the wheel in most cases.

The driver's guilt was confirmed by materials from the Sergek system, photographs and video recordings, an administrative offense report, and data from the Committee on Legal Statistics and Special Accounts of the Prosecutor General's Office.

The court ruling has not yet entered into force.

Earlier, Kursiv Avto reported how a Shacman driver in Astana hid his license plate using a cable and lost his driving license.
