Astana akim Zhenis Kassymbek reported to the president on the comprehensive improvement and greening of the capital. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the press service of the Akorda, the president heard reports from the heads of responsible state bodies.
According to the head of the city, in recent years nearly 500 courtyards and public spaces have been improved in Astana. By the end of the year, more than 170 courtyards and public places, including parks, squares and boulevards, will be put in order.
"The head of state was given information that a unified system of public and recreational spaces is being formed along the Yesil River. As part of this work, parks, walking and sports areas in different parts of the city will be united into a single green belt," the statement says.
Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Alibek Kuantyrov reported that since the launch of the head of state's "Taza Kazakhstan" initiative, more than 2,000 environmental events have been organized.
As part of them, 3.8 million tons of waste were collected and about 10,000 dumps were eliminated.
