The Tennis Federation of Kazakhstan is implementing the Baby Tennis project in Astana, aimed at increasing children's physical activity and fostering an early interest in tennis. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

As part of the project, children are taught tennis in more than 50 kindergartens in Astana. The project has been introduced as an innovative one in kindergartens No. 1, 11, 37, 58, 84, 89, 93, and 98.

In a number of other kindergartens, tennis elements are held as additional activities.

"The main goal of the project is to introduce preschool children to the basic elements of tennis, to develop skills in holding the racket correctly and controlling the ball, thereby developing their agility, precision of movement, ability to maintain balance, and coordination of movements," the akimat said.

The program content, taking into account the age characteristics of children, is aimed at mastering simple tennis techniques through play.
