Astana will host the 2028 UEFA Super Cup. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The organization's Executive Committee made this decision. According to information distributed by the Kazakhstan Football Federation, the match between the winners of the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League will take place at Astana Arena.
"The choice of Astana was based on the comprehensive work of the Kazakhstan Football Federation in developing sports infrastructure and strengthening cooperation with the Union of European Football Associations. Hosting a match of this level in Kazakhstan is a historic event for domestic sport," the official statement says.
Meanwhile, measures to reconstruct Astana Arena and systematically upgrade its infrastructure will ensure its full compliance with UEFA's strict regulatory requirements for hosting major European finals.
It was previously reported that Astana will host the UEFA Congress in 2027.
