A fire broke out on 11 October in a 12-storey residential complex on A-52 Street in the Sarayshyk district of Astana. Rescuers led three people, including a child, out of the building. No one was injured, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Cause and location of the fire
Firefighters who arrived at the scene determined that an electrical cable was burning in a cable shaft from the first to the ninth floor. Rescue operations began simultaneously with firefighting — people were led out via the stairs.
Extinguishing the fire
The fire was extinguished along 27 linear metres. Firefighters prevented the further spread of the flames.
Ministry of Emergency Situations reminder
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminded that if signs of a fire are detected, one must call 112. During a fire, elevators must not be used, and the instructions of rescuers must be followed.
Previous incident
Earlier, Kursiv wrote about a fire in a three-storey house on Gogol Street in Ust-Kamenogorsk. There, the roof caught fire over an area of 100 square metres, and eight people were evacuated from the smoke-filled building. No one was injured.
