A 12-story residential building caught fire in Astana. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the fire occurred at a construction site on A-32 Street in the Saraiyk district. There were no people inside the building.
When firefighters arrived, they found that thermal insulation material was burning with open flames from the first to the seventh floor. Fire hoses were immediately deployed.
The ministry's statement said: "Fire hoses were immediately deployed. Work is underway to fully extinguish the fire. An uninterrupted water supply has been ensured."
Within about an hour, the fire was contained and extinguished by emergency services. No casualties were reported.
