According to the results of 2025, the tourist flow to Astana reached 1.6 million people, including more than 380,000 foreign tourists. This was reported by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to the ministry, in 2026, in the first quarter, the capital was visited by 352,200 tourists, which is 12% more compared to the same period last year. Of these, 67,900 were foreign guests.

The capital is most actively visited by travelers from Russia, China, Turkey, Germany, and the United States. At the same time, interest in Astana is growing among tourists from Uzbekistan, the United Arab Emirates, and other countries.

Investment activity also maintains high dynamics. In 2025, the volume of investments in fixed capital of the tourism industry reached a record among Kazakhstan's regions of 438.3 billion tenge. In January–May of this year, this figure amounted to 250 billion tenge — twice as much as in the same period last year. The capital is implementing 33 investment projects worth a total of 265.7 billion tenge, including the construction of new hotels of international brands, the development of ecotourism and modern tourist infrastructure.

One of the key growth factors remains event tourism. In the first three months of 2026 alone, more than 300 events took place in Astana, 11 of which have international status. Ahead are the ethno-gastronomic festival BaiQymyz, Comic Con Astana, the international tournament "Games of the Future," and a concert by Enrique Iglesias, which will attract thousands of guests from Kazakhstan and abroad.

The capital is consistently strengthening its international presence. In 2026, Astana was presented at major tourism exhibitions in Germany, China, and South Korea, and held a road show in Russia.
