In 2025, Astana was visited by 1 million 604 thousand tourists, which is 7% more than the previous year. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Most often, tourists came to Astana from Russia, China, Turkey, Germany, and the USA. Authorities consider the tourism industry as one of the drivers of the capital's economic development, along with business activity.

The increase in tourist flow has a positive impact on the city's economy. Revenues of hotels, restaurants, cafes, retail outlets are growing, as well as demand for transport, excursion, and other services.

Acting Deputy Chairman of the Board of Kazakh Tourism Yedige Adilkhanov noted that the duration of tourists' stay directly affects the economic effect. According to him, foreign guests are interested in the opportunity to get acquainted with Kazakh culture and traditions.

For residents of the country, a trip to Astana becomes a format of a short city trip — a so-called city break, allowing them to spend several days in a new place and get acquainted with the sights of the capital.

Earlier, Kursiv wrote that Kazakhstan will purchase 191 new carriages for the tourist season.
