A bus caught fire in Astana on Al-Farabi Avenue in the Yesil district. Video from the scene appeared on social media. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the fire broke out in the engine compartment of the public transport vehicle. Firefighting units and specialists from the Disaster Medicine Center were immediately dispatched to the scene.

By the time rescuers arrived, the engine compartment was engulfed in open flames. All passengers managed to evacuate the bus on their own before emergency services arrived.

"As a result of the coordinated actions of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the fire was extinguished in the shortest possible time. Firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to the entire bus," the Ministry's statement said.

The ministry clarified that no one was injured in the incident. Specialists are determining the cause of the fire.

Earlier, Kursiv reported about a bus that caught fire while moving and burned to the ground in Semey. And at a gas station in Aktobe, two children and an adult died in a car fire.
