On the afternoon of July 10, a traffic accident involving a truck occurred on the Astana-Karaganda highway, disrupting traffic for several hours. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to the national operator KazAvtoZhol, the accident happened around 16:30 at the 42nd kilometer of the highway. Preliminary data indicates that the truck driver lost control, causing the truck to crash into a barrier. A traffic jam quickly formed in the area.

Road services arrived at the scene to eliminate the consequences. Specialists cleared the roadway, removed the aftermath of the accident, and ensured safe conditions for resuming traffic. The highway was fully reopened only by 20:30.

Road services noted that such situations highlight the importance of proper driver behavior in traffic jams after an accident.

"Do not try to bypass the traffic jam along the roadside — this creates additional danger and may block the path for emergency services and road equipment. Reduce speed in advance, maintain a safe distance, do not occupy the lane used by special services, follow temporary road signs, and do not stop to take photos or videos. The behavior of each driver affects not only safety but also the speed of traffic restoration," specialists reminded.

Earlier, Kursiv Avto reported that on July 12, another package of changes for drivers comes into force in Kazakhstan. After some accidents, vehicles may be sent for re-inspection.
